Derek Gee Installations Pty Ltd in 2019 were awarded the contract to manufacture and supply 7x replacement tanks for the Groote Eylandt waste water treatment plant.The fiberglass walls were fabricated in our Tasmania workshop then transported to our Naval Base workshop to be fitted to the steel frames which were being fabricated at the same time the fibreglass walls. Once fitted and all lamination completed, hydro-static testing was completed amongst other NDT prior to the logistics of transporting the completed tanks to the remote location of Groote Eylandt.

Groote Eylandt Mining Company operation (GEMCO) located on an island in the Gulf of Carpentaria off the Australian coast, produces high grade manganese ore.
