New Caledonia: South Pacific
Koniambo Nickel Project is located on the South Pacific Island of New Caledonia, and Derek Gee Installations Pty Ltd was contracted to provide D6 GRE/GRVE Pipe Fitter Bonder Inspectors to train the local and international pipe fitters on site.
Project Background
Koniambo has one of the largest nickel reserves in New Caledonia, with around 151 million tonnes of ore grading at 2.58% nickel. Each 62.5 million tonnes of ore contains 4 million tonnes of nickel metal.
